The Colours of Liverpool - Print and Homeware Range for Tate

Print and homeware range designed by Dorothy for Tate Galleries and available to buy exclusively from Tate Liverpool gallery store and Tate Online.

Our colour chart, first launched in Spring 2018, is made up from the names of 66 people, places and things that help make Liverpool the most vibrant city we know (and one we are proud to call our home).

The swatch features colour themed landmarks (Bluecoat, Black-E), street names (Lime Street, Brownlow Hill), musicians (Cilla Black, Holly Johnson), bands (China Crisis, Half Man Half Biscuit, The Coral), song titles (The Killing Moon, Story of the Blues), clubs (The Cavern, Cream) and football teams (The Reds, The Blues).

The range makes numerous references to The Beatles (Yellow Submarine, The White Album, Mean Mr. Mustard, Strawberry Fields Forever, The Grapes) but also celebrates the city's current burgeoning creative and independent scene (Forest Swords, Stealing Sheep, Baltic Triangle, Camp and Furnace, Kazimier Garden, Invisible Wind Factory).

The range has recently been expanded to also include The Colours of London and The Colours of St Ives.

The Colours of Liverpool range features: White Star Line, The White Album, The Killing Moon, A Flock of Seagulls, China Crisis, Cream, Old Swan, Invisible Wind Factory, Stealing Sheep, Calderstones, Creamfields, Port Sunlight, Dazzle Ships, Yellow Submarine, Superlambanana, Golden Slumbers, Mean Mr Mustard, Penny Lane, Sandhills, Camp and Furnace, Copperas Hill, Albert Dock Orange Pillars, The Coral, The Lobster Pot, Strawberry Fields Forever, The Reds, Formby Red Squirrel, Red Rum, Port of Liverpool. Wheelie Bin Purple, The Story of the Blues, Baltic Triangle, Wave Machines, River Mersey, The Swinging Blue Jeans, The Blues, The Pale Fountains, Liverpool Waterfront, The Icicle Works, The Teardrop Explodes, Bluecoat, Blue Angel, Brookside, Everton Mint, Lime Street, The Grapes, Kazimer Gardens, Holly Johnson, Sefton Park, Norris Green, Broadgreen, Forest Swords, Wood Street, Norwegian Wood, Bread, Half Man Half Biscuit, Brownlow Hill, Willian Brown Street, Crosby Iron Men, Knotty Ash, The Cavern, Boys from the Blackstuff, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, The Black-E, Space, Cilla Black.

The new range is an extension of the Colour Wheel concept the studio has been developing over the last few years.
