Think you have pop culture covered?
Play our game to test how much you really know about films, bands, books, games, songs and TV shows.
Roll the white dice to set a category (eg. film) and the black dice to set a theme (eg. colour). The aim of the game is then to name as many films as you can that use a colour in their title (eg. Goldfinger).
Ways to plays:
There are plenty of ways to play the game.
Here are our suggestions:
ELIMINATION ❌
One player rolls the dice. Working clockwise and taking it in turns, each player has 30 seconds to come up with one unique answer. If they fail they are eliminated from the round. Last person standing wins. To play again the first player eliminated from the previous round rolls the dice for the next round. Keep score and play as many rounds as you like.
QUICK FIRE 🔥
Players take it in turns to roll the dice. The first person to answer correctly receives a
point. If you repeat an answer you loose a point. Keep score and the first person to 10 wins.
TEAMS 🧑🧑🧒🧒
Teams take it in turns to roll the dice and answer continuously as many times as possible in 30 seconds. Take a score after each round and the team with the most points after six rounds wins.
LISTS 📋
Players take it in turns to roll the dice. All players have 1 minute to write down as many answers as possible. Take a score after each round awarding 1 point for a correct answer or 2 points for a correct answer no-one else has. The person with the most points after everyone has rolled once, twice or three times (take your pick) wins.
SOLO PLAY 1️⃣
Roll the dice and challenge yourself to come up with, 5 answers (easy), 10 answers (hard) or time yourself while listing answers, then replay the challenge and try to complete it faster than your previous time. It’s perfect for playing on the go, whether you’re travelling or just need a bit of downtime.
CHARADES 🎭
Use the dice as prompts for a game of charades and sketch, hum or act our answers. Or use them to help you decide what to watch, listen or read next.
SUB CATEGORIES
Too easy for you? Try adding sub-categories to make the game more challenging. For example, Sci-Fi or Horror for TV shows and films, or narrowing songs and bands down by genre, such as Jazz or Indie. If you really want to raise the difficulty, shorten the time allowed for each round, or ignore these suggestions altogether and create your own rules.
DRINKING GAME (optional) 🍻
If you’re 18+ why not try the dice as a drinking game? Play indivually or in teams, If a player can’t answer, they take a sip, and if someone gives a duplicate answer, they take two sips. At the end of each round, the player or team with the best answer gets to give out a sip. It is First to 5 points, or just play for laughs and stop when time’s up. As an optional rule, a players may ask the group for a hint, at the risk of costing them one point. Roll the dice, sip, laugh, and repeat...
