Dorothy's History of Dance Music and Rave Culture - New Edition

Our Acid House Love Blueprint has been updated with over 250 new additions, so now features over 1,200 DJs, clubs, musicians, free parties, sound systems, record labels and fanzines from the history of dance music and rave culture. All mapped out on the circuit diagram of a 303.

The third edition is now available to buy from our our store here.

Here’s a rundown of some of the updated sections on the print.

Berghain is as relevant as ever, so we’ve added some fresh names to account for the Berlin club’s expanding significance. The infamous Sven Marquardt and his revered door policy, Queens of Panorama Bar Cassy and Cinthie, and long-time Berghain residents Ben Klock and Tama Sumo. We’ve also added Alex Kassian, a studio favourite, as part of the wider Berlin scene.

Although well represented across the print since its first edition, the Italians are yet to have a cluster to call their own... until now! Dream house pioneer Don Carlos, the ever present Alex Neri, and the church that is Cocoricó are just a few additions who have helped cement Italy as a house music powerhouse over the past decades. A scene that deserves a blueprint in its own right!

Prolific DJ’s Satoshi Tomiie, Fumiya Tanaka, Shinichiro Yokota & Soichi Terada and clubs like Precious Hall and Space Lab Yellow have been at the forefront of Japan’s dance music scene since the late 80s / early 90s. Boasting strong links to New York legends like Larry Levan, Frankie Knuckles and Francois Kevorkian, the beat of the Far East is a more than deserved addition to the Acid House Love Blueprint.

Once a ‘novel sub-genre’, Lo-Fi House has now solidified itself as a global scene, with its champion DJ’s and producers accelerated to stardom and dominating festival lineups. Key figures such as DJ Seinfeld, Mall Grab, Ross From Friends and DJ Boring are welcome additions to the Acid House Blueprint and represent the more contemporary sound of modern dance music.

Yorkshire’s bleep and bass scene surrounding the seminal Warp Records has had a revamp. Rob Gordon, Forgemasters member and original Warp co-founder being a notable addition, alongside school friends Tuff Little Unit.

The third edition of our Acid House Love Blueprint is now available to buy in original Keaykolour Navy Blue or Colorplan Factory Yellow. Shop the full collection of Blueprints here.
