Game Map - Original Open Edition
A street map made up from the titles of over 500 video games and other references from the history of gaming: from the early academic ventures of the 1950s such as OXO and Tennis for Two, entertainment franchises from the 80s and 90s like Super Mario, Street Fighter and Pokémon, to contemporary bestsellers like Grand Theft Auto, Call of Duty and Assassin's Creed.
The imaginary map is loosely based on an area of Tokyo, a city that was home to some of the all-time classic arcade games of the late 1970s and early 1980s that paved the way for the modern day gaming industry.
The map features districts dedicated to survival horror (Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Sweet Home), beat ‘em ups (Street Fighter, Streets of Rage, Double Dragon) and Nintendo classics (Super Mario Kart, Donkey Kong Land, Luigi’s Mansion), as well as many geeky ‘in’ references to entertain the most hardcore (or the oldest) of gamers.
