Group Stages Results and Knockout Rounds: 

We are now on to the next part of the exhibition tournament, ‘The Knockout Stage’ and we couldn’t be more excited.

There were a few unexpected farewells in the early stages of the competition. France, the most expensive mug in the tournament with a transfer fee of over £5.00, failed to win any of their cup-offs, proving that money can’t buy success after all! Hungary also suffered a premature exit after arriving late from Vinted, making their tournament run the shortest of any cup in the competition. Austria, Egypt, Ghana, New Zealand and several others also return to the cupboard after failing to pick up a win during the group stage.

That brings us on to the cups who have succeeded so far. It’s fair to say that some surprise contenders have gone through to the next stage of the competition… Jordan for example may not have the most extravagant design but has emerged as one of the competitions dark horses, so far placing third in Group I along with some through as strong contenders (Spain & Belgium). Perhaps the public are drawn to high quality ceramic and usability over cup-character alone. 

Meanwhile, the expected group leaders including Mexico, Australia, Bosnia, the USA and many more have handled the pressure with confidence and move on in the next round.

What Happens Next?
